Karen Allen is an American actress, born on October 5, 1951, in Carrollton, Illinois. She began her acting career in the late 1970s, and quickly gained recognition for her role as Marion Ravenwood in the blockbuster film, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981).
Some other notable film credits for Karen Allen include "Animal House" (1978), "Starman" (1984), and "The Perfect Storm" (2000). She has also appeared in numerous theater productions, and directed a few as well.
Karen Allen has been nominated for several awards throughout her career, including a Tony Award for her role in the Broadway play "The Monday After The Miracle" (1982). In addition to her acting work, she is also an accomplished fiber artist and runs her own studio in Massachusetts.
